Beef Stew - Recipe for Old-Fashioned Beef Stew

Old-Fashioned Beef Stew

12 ounces boneless beef, cubed
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
Olive or vegetable oil
3 potatoes, peeled and diced
5 carrots, sliced
1 can whole-kernel corn, drained
1 can beef broth
1 cup water
½ cup milk
½ tablespoon pepper
½ tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons brewed coffee (optional)

Brown beef, onions and garlic in a little oil; drain on paper towels to remove
excess grease. In a large pot, over medium heat, combine with remaining
ingredients and cook about 45 minutes. Thin or thicken as you desire.
Serve beef stew hot with cornbread muffins.
