Cabbage Casserole

1 stick margarine, melted
1 1/2 cups crushed Ritz crackers, divided
4 cups shredded cabbage
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 (10.25-ounce) can cream of celery soup
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon each: salt and pepper
1 cup milk
2 cups grated Cheddar cheese

Mix margarine and crushed crackers. Place half in a greased 2-quart casserole dish. Spread cabbage and onion over top. Mix soup, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and milk; pour over cabbage. Top with cheese and sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Bake uncovered at 350° for 45 minutes.
